Here I am talking about one of my favourite subjects again.. where the bees are plentiful, the people are kind and a fair few famous faces put our amazing city on the map. Manchester, this post is ALL ABOUT YOU!
This post is in collaboration with Megabus and I am giving you my top tips for a £60 budget day out in Manchester!
Christmas
I was VERY excited to see the Markets being installed on my jaunt about town, in 2019 we have them from 8th November to just before Christmas so I will definitely be heading down a good couple of times! I adore the markets, they are so festive and you can pick up some tasty treats on your travels, along with a mulled wine or two! You can also take a Manchester Christmas Markets Mug to commemorate your visit and the designs change every year so make a nice collectors item!
Further Afield
If you want a quieter/non shopping/something you've not seen before day out, there are an abundance of gorgeous places very close by to Manchester. I am probably biased seeing as I live over this way but Altrincham Markets are great for the family, along with Dunham Massey to see some real life reindeer (stags) and some fresh air! Victoria Baths is slightly out of town but a fantastic insight into a swimming baths from the Victorian era! MediaCity has the Coronation Street Tour, Imperial War Museum and sometimes you can even get tickets to go and watch TV Shows such as the Voice filmed!
For the Perfect Instagram Pictures
Some of you may roll your eyes at this one, but I personally find it super relaxing to wander around a new place, taking pics and enjoying my surroundings. Manchester is no exception to this and has some amazing architecture, graffiti and street art, floral creations and urban scenes. I often then like to get my best pics printed and framed!
Manchester Eats
Whatever cuisine your heart desires, there's a place you can go in Manchester to satisfy it! From grilled cheese, to asian fusion, posh kebabs, Vietnamese or deliciously dirty burgers there's something for everyone!
Sporting Events and Activities.. Other than Football
Much as Manchester will always raise the question of are you a red or a blue.. there's so many other sports played here. Whether cycling, basketball or swimming is your thing, Manchester has first class facilities for a variety of sports.
I recently went to watch Team GB vs Kosovo Basketball at the National Basketball Centre in Belle Vue. Tickets were a bargainous £12.50 and it was BRILLIANT! I absolutely loved it and caught a glimpse of our fave Love Island BBaller Ovie too!
You can go axe throwing, skiing and sledging, play darts, ice skating or hockey too!

RANDOM
If you want to learn something new, there are loads of day craft courses on offer. I've been to some fab events in Manchester and places like Fred Aldous host a number of crafty workshops you can get involved in. You can try your hand at Junkyard Golf which I thought I would be RUBBISH at, I mainly wasn't great but did manage a couple of 'can't quite believe it' hole in ones!
So. if you are bored and on a budget, hop on Megabus and come and visit! There are charging points and free wifi on most buses and the fares are very purse friendly 👍
