Life Lessons from Blair Waldorf
Thursday 6 August 2015
Hands up who is sad that Gossip Girl is over, with no hope of a come back. It's my most watched series on Netflix and the one programme that never gets old. My absolute favourite character is Blair Waldorf due to her amazing outfits, witty comebacks and general ballsy attitude. So this post plays homage to some of the life lessons Miss Waldorf taught us during her time on screen.
'Once men have tasted caviar, it baffles me how they settle for catfish.'
She absolutely has a point here. Some little chumps have a horrible way of just not knowing how good they have it. Do not accept this BS and wave good bye!!!
'I love you more and more every day if it's even possible to love someone that much.'
Chuck and Blair's love story used to make my heart jump into my throat. All consuming, passionate love is ALL you should settle for!
'I have an idea for you, quit. Your boss is a bitch. Let's go to lunch.'
Life is too short to tolerate something you hate. Granted the fictional cast of Gossip Girl didn't exactly need to work, but you get my drift. If you are unhappy with something then change it!
'Destiny is for losers. It's just a stupid excuse to wait for things to happen instead of making them happen.'
This is one of my faves. Self confidence is the absolute key and you and you alone are responsible for your happiness, so take control!
'If you really want something, you don't stop for anyone or anything until you get it.'
I don't need to repeat what she said. Life lesson, right there.
'Fashion is the most powerful art there is. It's movement, design, and architecture all in one. It shows the world who we are and who we'd like to be.'
I maybe don't take fashion quite this seriously, but I do agree that if you dress the part you feel the part.
'You need to be cool to be Queen. Anne Boleyn thought only with her heart and she got her head chopped off'
It's easy to be swept along by what the heart desires but always give things a sense check. If something doesn't feel right then don't ignore your head!
'Whoever said that money doesn't buy happiness, doesn't know where to shop.'
I could make myself really quite happy with the shopping budget Blair had!
'Here's my advice, have a little faith, and if that doesn't work have a lot of mimosas.'
If at first you don't succeed, regroup with your pals and get right back to it!
'If you are going to be sad, you might as well be sad in Paris.'
Blair was just so wise.
