Review: GLAM GLOW Super Mud

GlamGlow Super Mud
I don't know about you but for me Christmas nearly always means two weeks of excess.. partying.. being lazy.. eating more.. putting more makeup on.. disturbed sleep patterns etc etc etc and that results in unhappy skin in January. *Sad face*

I received a sample sachet of GlamGlow Super-Mud in December and have only just got round to using it as I wanted my skin to be at it's worst so I could put it to the test.

Super Mud can be applied as a spot busting treatment or applied over the full face as an intensive cleansing mask. With some pretty impressive claims, GlamGlow works it's magic on skin problems such as blemishes, large open pores, black and white heads, ingrown hairs, shaving rash and more. I felt that I had pretty bunged up skin that was getting greasy quite quickly, large open pores and spots brewing so I wanted action and I needed it to take effect pretty quick!

I opted for a full face application and I use a Real Techniques Foundation brush to do the honours as it spreads it nicely and means you don't end up with it all over your hands or under your fingernails! Plus there is something so satisfying about the painting process! You leave it on for 5-25 minutes depending on how long you fancy and then wash it off leaving plumped and cleansed skin behind.

When I originally heard about this I was a little confused by the description that it almost visibly 'hoovers' the rubbish out of your pores as I couldn't envisage what on earth was meant by it! Well keep reading and check out the last picture. Apologies for the completely un-glam picture zoomed in of my chin but I thought it was the best way to show you! It really does suck the nasties right out! You will see the spotting on the mask and that is the excess oil and grime being sucked out of the pores!

A day on, I am left with brighter skin and a spot has come to the surface..not ideal but equally it's not half as angry and red looking as a blemish would normally be on my face so I figure that it's worth it especially if it's got it all out! I would recommend that if you want to do a full face spring clean, definitely don't be scared to do so but perhaps not the day before any big events as it may suck something out in the form of a spot, which none of us exactly want in the run up to a special occasion!

It genuinely feels like a treat to apply and whilst it is not a cheap pamper treatment, the cost per use is actually quite low considering it does feel like a facial in a jar!

Retailing at £44.99 for 17 full face applications or 1000 on the spot treatments I think it isn't too bad.

Maybe it's one for January payday when the finances right themselves post Christmas! Alternatively you could host a cheap night in with the girls and all chip in for a pot and have a facial party? May as well do it whilst things are quiet in January and get your skin in tip top condition for Valentine's day... *happy face!*

Excuse the self shots.. just had to take them to show you the congestion removal!

  1. I'm looking to buy a 'fix my skin' product once my spending ban is over, I might have to give this a whirl! It looks like it gets down to business.
