Now let's get onto the good stuff.. this week I have kicked off a series of posts based on the festive season, Christmas Parties, drinks, gatherings, spontaneous nights out and generally looking fab and being merry.
Now all us ladies know that looking hot to trot doesn't always come *that* naturally if time is limited and I want to share with you my favourite items to do a superman style spruce up in the comfort of the office, your desk, the pub, train station, stationary cupboard etc!
I think it's always nice to add a bit of glamour by wearing some false lashes, these Ardell Demi Wispies are some of my favourites as they are quite natural looking. The Bourjois Lash Applicator makes application a breeze as it allows you to get right into the lash line and stick them down well. I would highly recommend Duo Dark Tone Lash Adhesive as my go to glue for lashes. They sell the normal one at MAC but I found the dark tone one at Sally's Hair and Beauty for £4ish I think, they also sell it on Amazon and it is absolutely fantastic.

The jury are out on false toe nails but I really like them and think they are a super easy way of getting beautiful looking tootsies in a very short period of time.. I can never be bothered painting my toe nails as mine are so small! You could pop these on in 10 minutes and pull on those peep toes with no hobbit feet to be seen!
I had held off buying one of the Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain Crayons but on my lunch today I spotted this rather lovely cranberry shade and thought I would give it a try. I am hooked. These crayons are wonderful! They have a minty scent and are a balm/stain consistency which is perfect for the winter months when the lips get chapped!
And now we move onto skin care.. I was recently very kindly invited to a L'Oreal Event in Manchester which introduced the 'French Pharmacie' brands to Bloggers and Press. I suffer with sensitive skin and have had adult acne in the past so I was really interested to hear all about Vichy and La Roche Posay to name a few of the brands. The two items I would definitely include in my handbag heroes are the Vichy Eau Thermale Spray* and La Roche Posay Soothing Repairing Balm* both which can be purchased from larger Boots Stores.
The Vichy Spray is fabulous for cooling you down when you are having a little hot flush/panic/stress etc and it is also really good for refreshing your makeup if you have very limited sprucing resources! It contains rare minerals that your skin will just drink up and also goes some way to replace moisture that is zapped from your skin in the cold weather and whilst sat in centrally heated offices.
La Roche Posay's Soothing Balm is likened to the cult beauty product - Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream. Now I am going to be a bit controversial now and say I don't actually like 8 Hour Cream. I don't get why you would put gloopy, horrible smelling, pore clogging stuff on your face or skin? That stuff has white heads written all over it for me and it's really shiny? I have used it on my lips when they have been very chapped but I am disappointed with it. I don't know if I am missing something but I just really do not like it.
So cue my absolute joy to see La Roche Posay's version which is AMAZING. I love the concept of a 'throw it in your bag' wonder product and this genuinely is it for me. It has a lovely creamy consistency without being too heavy. It is fragrance free and suitable for sensitive skin and can be used anywhere.
Unruly brows? Just calm them down with a little of this.. Chapped lips?.. Smooth a little over and pucker up... Tight, Dry hands or cheeks? Rub it in and let it soothe the soreness. I simply cannot recommend this product enough!
